The organizer SRO Motorsports Group brought the Blancpain GT series cars in the Hungaroring.
So the spectators have the chance to have a look these extraordinary, superb sport cars and also listen them. Unforgettable experience – please do not miss the best photos
During the Friday free practice sessions the cars could enjoy the sunshine on Hungaroring circuit. There were plenty of time for testing, updating the set-ups or trying different tyres.
On Saturday the public had the chance to follow the Morning practices and in the Afternoon there were races as well. But the weather had its part of the weekend as well. The first race for GT4 drivers was red-flagged on its 48th minutes, 12 minutes shy at the end due to the heavy rain, however the full points went to the winner pair, M.Koebolt/S.Knap (BMW M4 GT4).
It was the same on Sunday, the race was finished also before the normal time due to a spinning, this time B.Visser/N. Menzel won with (also with a BMW M4 GT4).
The “learning category” of Formula 1, Formula Renault Eurocup is technically the same with the Renault monopod one seated race. These races are also full of excite and also it is a great opportunity to observe these young and talented drivers, some of them definitely will be a member of the elite formula one field shortly. The weather did effect those cars as well.
Yifei Ye (Josef Kaufmann Racing) and Christian Lundgaard (MP Motorsport) are the winners of two Formula Renault Eurocup races at Hungaroring, in the seventh round of the season. The same two drivers are the leaders in the championship standings, with Lundgaard leading ahead of Ye.
BlancPain Gt Sports Cup Championship is for drivers with less routine but with strong sport cars. Although the number of participants are less the races have more excite and more fun for the drivers and spectators as well. What a sound these cars have!
The main races of this weekend were definitely the BlancPain GT Series Sprint two races. This series required two drivers, who swap around half way of the one hour race while the car is in the pit (during refuelling and tyre replacement). Christina Engelhart/Mirko Bortolotti won the dry Saturday race with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 while the Sunday rainy race won by Raffaele Marciello/Michael Meadows with a Mercedes-AMG GT3. It is important to note that the drivers managed to fulfil this short race without any problem because they are generally take part on 6, 12 or even the 24 hours racing. Comparing those ones one hour is not a difficult to complete! Furthermore the Sunday race was even shorter because the race started behind the safety car for a couple of laps due to the heavy rain and aquaplaning.
Overall it is worth to visit!
